Ulrich Schopfer

Ulrich Schopfer has been Director, Integrated Lead Discovery Head at Novartis since 2012. Previously, he was Director, Head Biochemical Screening and Director, Global Head of Compound Management, as well as Laboratory Head and Programme Head of different discovery programs in nervous system research at Novartis.

Prior to joining Novartis, Ulrich did his postdoctoral  training at the University of Nagoya, Japan at the Department of Chemistry with Prof. R. Noyori. He received his PhD degree in organic chemistry in 1997 from the Department of Chemistry at the University of Marburg, after studying chemistry at the Universities of Marburg, Edinburgh and Freiburg (1989-1994).
